VENUE

The workshop will be held at the Marine Biology Station Piran. The Station is situated on a peninsula between Portorož and the medieval town of Piran, and built around the ruins of the 15th century St. Bernardin church. All the lectures and practical sessions will be held in the Marine Biology Station Piran.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Participants arriving by plane are advised to book Ljubljana Airport (Airport Joze Pucnik, Ljubljana) or Aeroporto di Trieste (Trieste, Italy) as their final destination.

Ljubljana Airport is located 26 km north of Slovenia's capital city, Ljubljana. The Marine Biology Station Piran is located 143 km from the airport. From Ljubljana Airport you can travel by shuttle, taxi of bus to Ljubljana city. Airport shuttle and taxi services are available in front of the airport building. The telephone number of the airport shuttle is +386 41 362 079 and the number of the taxi service is +386 4 206 16 78. From Ljubljana you can continue on your way to Piran by bus or by train. You can find additional information on timetables at:

The train from Ljubljana will terminate in Koper, from where you can take a bus or taxi (Taxi Soncek: +386 51 307 300) to Piran.

Trieste Airport is located 33 km from the city of Trieste. From there you can travel to Piran by bus, by taxi, by rental car or by train. You can find additional information on timetables on the transport from airport to Piran here...

IMPORTANT NOTICE

We will optionally organize bus trasportation for workshop participants from Ljubljana Airport via Ljubljana city to the Marine Biology Station Piran. Departure from Ljubljana Airport is planned at 4pm with additional stop in Ljubljana at 4:30pm. More details about the exact time of the transportation on Monday will be given later.

On the morning of departure there will be bus transportation to take participants from Piran to Ljubljana city and then to Ljubljana Airport, as a final destination.
