INVITATION
Slovene Society for Microscopy is proud to announce that 1st Slovene Microscopy Symposium will take place in Piran (Marine Biology Station) on 18th and 19th of May 2015.
AIM
The aim of the symposium is to bring together experts and emerging young researchers from academic, research and industrial sectors, which are applying various types of microscopic techniques in the fields of life- and material sciences.
The main goal of the 1st Slovene Microscopy Symposium is to introduce modern globally emerging microscopic methods and to make a comprehensive overview of the microscopy existing in Slovenia: which microscopic methods in the life- , material- and industrial sectors are mastered in Slovenia, on which institution and with what equipment. Our intention is that speakers present their knowledge in clear, effective and user-friendly lectures in order to make them understandable for the audience from all branches of the microscopy, which might not know presented techniques yet; however they could potentially be usable for them (e.g.live sciences material sciences).
From that derives our second goal, to promote better interactions and communication among microscopists. There will be also strong intention at the Symposium to attract Slovenian companies, which use microscopic methods for solving their technological questions, and to stimulate closer collaboration between academic institutions and industrial sector.
Our ambitious goal is to make the Slovene Microscopy Symposium permanent yearly event where state-of-the-art microscopy in Slovenia would be presented, and knowledge, experiences and views on the microscopy would be exchanged.
FOR WHO
The first Slovene Microscopy Symposium cordially invites all of you, who directly or indirectly use microscopic methods in your work: research-, pedagogical- and industrial personnel. Beside already established researchers, we especially address young colleges, PhD students and scientist at the beginning of their carriers. Welcomed also all who believe that knowing and connecting to microscopy-related organizations and personal in Slovenia, would add to make your scientific and R&D work more efficient.
